    Learning Objectives:

    This article aims to present a treatment algorithm for management of injuries to the retrohepatic IVC. The utilization of packing, additional exposure techniques, repair and shunting will be reviewed.

    Impact Statement:

    Injuries to the retrohepatic IVC have are highly lethal and difficult to manage. Rapid decision-making and progression through a stepwise algorithm is critical to managing these injuries.
