Acute Mesenteric Ischemia

The fellow should be able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the evaluation and etiology of mesenteric ischemia
• Demonstrate an understanding of the treatment approach as related to the etiology of mesenteric ischemia
• Describe the options to restore perfusion in thrombotic and embolic mesenteric ischemia
• Describe the role of endovascular techniques in the management of mesenteric ischemia
• Describe options for the treatment of venous mesenteric ischemia
• Understand the potential for short-gut syndrome and how to manage this complication
