The fellow should be able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the etiology of perianal abscesses and fistula
• Describe the types of perianal abscesses
• Describe the treatment of perianal abscesses and fistula in ano
• Describe the role of seton placement vs fistulotomy
• Understand the implications of inflammatory bowel disease in the treatment of fistula in ano
