Necrotizing Soft Tissue Infections

The fellow should be able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the evaluation and etiology of NSTI
• Describe the diagnostic adjuncts to assist with the diagnosis of NSTI
• Describe the initial management of NSTI including antibiotic choice
• Understand the controversy of hyperbaric oxygen, IVIG, and plasmapheresis as adjuncts for treatment of NSTI
• Understand the indication for amputation in NSTI
