    Describe a systematic approach to assessment and management of the trauma and acute care patients.

    Formulate an action plan based on scientific rationale, evidence-based standards of care, and practice management guidelines for trauma and acute care patients.

    Describe management of the pre- and post-acute care surgical patients.

    Choose appropriate and timely consultation and/or referral, when necessary, in the trauma acute care surgery populations.

    Summarize leadership development opportunities for NPs and PAs in their current practice.

    Debate current variations in trauma and acute care surgery patient management based on updated literature.

    The Women’s Vascular Summit is an annual meeting for medical professionals who treat vascular disease in women. The Summit is designed to present and discuss what we know and do not know about how vascular disease presents differently in women, and how intervention is impacted by gender.

    Featuring an international faculty, interactive group discussions and projects, mentorship program for vascular trainees, and an evening reception. After the flagship meeting in 2019, multiple research projects have been undertaken assessing differences in outcomes based on gender. The meeting also serves to connect women Vascular Surgeons and other practitioners involved in vascular disease from students to senior surgeons.

    What is this meeting about?

    Topics include the broad spectrum of vascular disorders including peripheral arterial disease, cerebrovascular disease, aortic aneurysms, aortic dissections, access, and venous disease. Interactive group discussions will allow participants to ask questions and to work together to develop future research projects. Last year, we were able to fund 1 research project which developed out of the meeting, and it is our hope to continue this process, encouraging women to pursue research together and focusing on gender differences in vascular disease.

    This course covers the clinical issues most relevant to hospitalists and other clinicians who care for inpatients. Taught by UCSF's top teachers and selected guest faculty, the course highlights recent advances and current controversies. To promote active learning, the course will use a mobile audience response system. In addition, there will be dedicated review and consolidation sessions where key learning points will be reviewed.

    The course includes broad content in infectious diseases (including updates in COVID), critical care, perioperative care, consult medicine, nephrology, and much more!
