The Western Pediatric Trauma Conference features nationally renowned faculty in the fields of pediatric trauma, pediatric sub-specialties, critical care, emergency medicine, and pre-hospital care for injured children. Opportunities for oral and poster (scientific and best practice) presentations are available. Scientific presentations are eligible for manuscript publication in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery. After this date, no refunds will be granted for non-attendance. No cancellations will be accepted by phone. Substitutions are permitted prior to the conference without any penalty. Substitutions made onsite at the conference will be subject to a $50 change fee.
This course is designed for advanced practitioners including physician assistants and nurse practitioners. In addition, physicians, clinical nurse specialist, nurse educators and nursing staff in trauma, acute care surgery, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine may benefit from this course.

Led by experts in interventional radiology and trauma surgery, this multidisciplinary meeting will promote the efficient management of the trauma patient, and all major topics in the global treatment of the trauma patient will be presented by experts in the field. It will highlight the important partnership of interventional radiology and trauma surgery. In doing so, it will bring internationally-recognized leaders to present a multi-faceted approach to care for one of the most challenging types of patient to care for: the critically-ill acute trauma patient. Furthermore, most of the program will surround current endovascular and interventional techniques and state-of-the art equipment used to perform life-saving procedures by both interventional radiologists and trauma surgeons. The Advances in Trauma (AIT) Meeting brings together 200+ trauma surgeons, general surgeons, emergency physicians, trauma coordinators, trauma nurses, critical care nurses, surgical residents, orthopedic surgeons, vascular surgeons, primary care physicians caring for injured patients, mid-level providers, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. AIT is sponsored by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, Region VII, representing Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.
The meeting will begin with the Region 7 Resident Paper Competition on Wednesday evening, December 7. Thursday, December 8, will be a full day of meetings. We will conclude on Friday, December 9 just after lunch.
