The Impact of Venovenous Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation on Trauma Patient Outcomes: Should We Cannulate?

We hypothesize that trauma patients in acute respiratory failure who are managed with venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV-ECMO) will demonstrate improved mortality when compared to similar patients who are treated with conventional ventilatory methods.
