Injury Scoring Scale

The AAST’s list of organ injury scaling tables originated in a set of papers that published in the Journal of Trauma. However, the AAST does not hold the copyright to this material. In order to reprint the liver injury scale, interested parties will need to submit a formal request to Wolters Kluwer, the journal’s publisher. To do so:

  • Go to the article in which the table was originally printed (click here to find the list of articles).
  • In the ‘Article Tools’ box to the right of the online abstract, click ‘Request Permissions’
  • The Copyright Clearance Center’s RightsLink window should pop up. Choose “reuse in a book/textbook” from the drop-down menu.
  • On the next screen, select the relevant options from the drop-down menus.
  • After selecting the way you plan to reuse the content, you will be prompted to create a RightsLink account.
  • Accept the terms and conditions and note the citation format – a license should follow by email.
