The National Trauma Institute (NTI) works to generate and award public and private funds for multicenter prospective clinical trials that will quickly impact trauma practice to reduce death and disability. NIGMS Strategic Plan
The new NIGMS strategic plan is now available at http://publications.nigms.nih.gov/strategicplan. We would like to thank all of you who provided input to help shape this document, which outlines many of the priorities and activities that we will pursue over the next 5 years. The plan is designed to serve as a framework to both codify and focus our efforts, while still allowing us the flexibility to pursue untapped opportunities in mission-relevant areas.
In addition to its specific goals, objectives, and implementation strategies, the plan reiterates our commitment to the stewardship of taxpayer funds and an atmosphere of open dialogue, collaboration and shared responsibility with the scientific community.
DOD announcement for “Linking Investigations in Trauma and Emergency Services” or “LITES”
The Department of Defense, Joint Program Committee-6, Combat Casualty Care, has a requirement to establish a clinical research network of civilian trauma facilities for the study of military relevant questions in combat casualty care. The request for proposals to create this standing trauma research network has been released and is called “Linking Investigations in Trauma and Emergency Services” or “LITES”. Information regarding how to submit a proposal is located at www.FBO.gov and can be searched with the solicitation number, “W81XWH-16-R-0033”.
