Based on the Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program, this experiential program is designed to help people make beneficial lifestyle behavior changes. In this course, attendees learn about lifestyle medicine, and actively participate in classes designed to help create an individualized wellness plan. Learning in this personal manner helps participants counsel patients on making these same healthy behavior changes.
A published study of the impact of the program has shown that there was a significant improvement in management of stress, levels of energy at work and home, and burnout in attendees that persisted for 6 months post program. Confidence to follow a healthy diet was significantly improved, frequency of continuing to lead an active lifestyle increased, and confidence to counsel patients on healthy lifestyle significantly increased.
Learning Objectives- Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
1. Recognize the relationship among health behaviors, chronic disease, and quality of life
2. Assess patient wellness in their own clinical practice
3. Employ wellness concepts in their own life

The goal of this course is to offer a comprehensive review and hands-on training for skull base open and endoscopic approaches. This is combined with 3D anatomical projections, case discussions, and virtual reality to offer a 360° review around surgical treatment of skull base pathologies.
Success With Failure: Strategies for the Evaluation and Treatment of Heart Failure will feature up-to-date presentations on the evaluation and treatment of heart failure. New diagnostic tools, drugs, and devices will be reviewed along with their role in specific clinical situations. Integration of guidelines and clinical management will be highlighted. The Alabama Vascular Society's Annual Meeting is open to Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons, Vascular RNs, PAs, NPs, RT, RVTs, and Vascular Trainees from Alabama and the Florida panhandle region. The meeting aims to provide attendees with the opportunity to critically assess performance of Vascular and Endovascular interventions and define the differences between the outcomes of these interventions compared with surgical procedures. It also aims to list methods for visceral revascularization and advantages and disadvantages of differing approaches, compare procedural and perioperative outcomes of aortic revascularization strategies, identify indications/contraindications and relative performance of interventions for cerebrovascular disease, evaluate the efficacy of endovascular revascularization of the lower extremity; Identify patient comorbidities that may affect outcomes in a negative manner, list methods of improving education for vascular surgery trainees and identify areas for needed improvement, list factors affecting outcomes of carotid revascularization, describe new methods of treating vascular disease including surgical, endovascular and medical therapies, and recognize important areas of basic science research currently being performed by vascular surgeons.
The meeting also includes specific training opportunities for Residents and Fellows including Mock Orals and presentation of selected cases, which allows them to have hands on experience and improve their skills in the field.
