    Notes for all Presenters

    • AAST's AV guidelines
    • Feel free to use AAST's PowerPoint template and disclosure slide template for your presentation
    • The slides to your presentation are to be uploaded to Speaker Ready Room (Room: Burgundy)
    • Slides are to be uploaded in the Speaker Ready Room at least four (4) hours prior to your presentation 

    Speaker Ready Room Times (Room: Burgundy)

    • Tuesday, September 10, 2024: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
    • Wednesday, September 11, 2024: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
    • Thursday, September 12, 2024: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
    • Friday, September 13, 2024: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
    • Saturday: Closed 

    Oral Presenters

    • Please remember to upload your manuscript to BOTH the Cadmium Website and to the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (JTACS: https://journals.lww.com/jtrauma/pages/default.aspx) by Thursday, August 1st
    • To view the JTACS submission instructions, click here
    • Please note: the above are two separate submissions and you must complete both. This date is non-negotiable and failure to upload by this date will make you and your institution ineligible to present for two years (2025 and 2026). A letter will also be sent to your chairman. Please make sure you mark them in your calendar
    • If there is a speaker change, please let rsass@aast.org know ASAP
    • You will take ten (10) minutes to complete your presentation. After your presentation is complete, the discussant will ask their questions, which will take a maximum of five (5) minutes. The remaining five (5) minutes you will respond and then take questions from the audience (if time allows)

    Quickshot Presenters

    • Please remember to upload your manuscript to the Cadmium Website (link sent via email) by Thursday, August 1st
    • Please note this year it is mandatory for quickshots to submit your manuscript to the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (JTACS, www.jtrauma.com) by Monday, August 1st

    • Please note: the above are two separate submissions and you must complete both. This date is non-negotiable and failure to upload by this date will make you and your institution ineligible to present for two years (2025 and 2026). A letter will also be sent to your chairman. Please make sure you mark them in your calendar
    • You will have three (3) minutes to present a maximum of 5 slides (not including the title and disclosure slides). The discussant will ask two (2) very objective questions, which should take no more than two (2) minutes. You will have one (1) minute to answer your two questions.  The moderator will stop you or the discussant if you go beyond the time allotted for your presentation
    • The two questions from your moderator will be sent to you by Monday, September 9th 
    • If there is a speaker change, please let rsass@aast.org know ASAP 

    Poster Presenters

    • All presenters are required to submit their poster to the online platform no later than 11:59 PM CST on Monday, September 2nd. An email containing the login to submit your poster has been sent. Please contact Kaitlyn Sanders if not received.
    • Although not mandatory, AAST suggests submitting your manuscript to the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (JTACS, www.jtrauma.com) or to Trauma Surgery and Acute Care Open (TSACO, tsaco.bmj.com) 
    • The poster session will be held on Thursday, September 12th from 12:45-1:45 PM PST
    • Format: you will present for four (4) minutes, then two (2) minutes will be allocated for questions from the poster professors/attendees
    • Instructions for poster submission to come 
    • The poster schedule will be posted shortly 

    Notes

    • A section at the top of the poster must contain the Title, Authors, and Affiliations – feel free to use the PDF as the template for your poster
    • Files must be in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file format
    • PDFs should be formatted landscape, 8.5 x 11 inches (or similar)
    • All posters will be shown on a ~75” TV screen. Please ensure that your poster is readable up to four feet from the screen

    Military Fallen Surgeons Educational Symposium Presenters

    • Your presentation should be no more than seven (7) minutes. Three (3) minutes will be used for audience questions. There is no maximum/minimum number of slides required
    • Feel free to use the military slide template here 
    • All slides are to be uploaded to the GoogleDrive sent by rsass@aast.org by noon PST on Monday, September 9th
