  • Meeting Presenters

  • Welcome to all Presenters of the 2021 AAST Annual Meeting of Clinical Congress & Acute Care Surgery!

    General Guidelines

    Poster Presenters

    • Please reference the poster guidelines here
    • Please reference the instructions to upload your poster here
    • Feel free to use AAST's poster template

    Important notes:

    • AAST leadership has decided to offer poster presenters the opportunity to “present” your poster online as opposed to attending the meeting in person. We will still have Thursday, September 30th from 12:10-1:10 PM EST slated for those who wish to present your poster in person at the meeting. The Wednesday, September 29th session from 6:00-7:00 PM EST has been removed from the program. If you wish to go virtual for your presentation, please note there is no slated presentation time – simply login to the system throughout the duration of the conference to see if there are comments/questions posted to your poster.
    • There will be an online competent where presenters will be required to upload an audio file associated with their poster for those who attend the meeting virtually - the link to the Innovia platform has been sent to all presenters. If you did not receive this, please reach out to rsass@aast.org
    • If the status of your in-person or virtual registration should change, please email ajones@aast.org as soon as possible
    • The upload of your poster/audio recording is due by 11:59 PM CST on Friday, September 17th

    Oral Presenters

    Important Notes:

    • Please remember to upload your manuscript to the Cadmium Website (link sent via email) and to the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (JTACS: https://journals.lww.com/jtrauma/pages/default.aspx) by Monday, August 30th
    • Please note: the above are two separate submissions and you must complete both. This date is non-negotiable and failure to upload by this date will make you and your institution ineligible to present for two years (2022 and 2023). A letter will also be sent to your chairman. Please make sure you mark them in your calendar.
    • Please note: AAST has an early manuscript submission process for those who want their paper published in January, February, or March of 2022 (which are considered “AAST Annual Meeting Issues”). To receive expedited review and publication (if accepted) in the first quarter of 2022, the manuscript must be submitted to JTACS (https://journals.lww.com/jtrauma/pages/default.aspx) by Sunday, August 1, 2021
    • AAST leadership has made the decision to allow for a pre-recorded/call-in option for oral presenters if you cannot attend the in-person meeting; however, you must be available to call in for your live Q&A during your designated time on the program (EST). It is still the expectation that if you can attend in person that you will do so.

      Virtual presenters must:

      • Be available to dial-in live to the meeting for Q&A during your slated presentation time
        • Our tech team will play your pre-recorded presentation during your slated presentation time, the discussant will ask their questions live (all discussants will be on-site and you will be able to hear them via Zoom), and then you will answer the discussant’s question/questions from the floor live – you will be shown on screen so dress/plan accordingly
      • Submit your pre-recorded presentation (no longer than ten minutes) to AAST (link to be sent soon) by Friday, September 17th
        • Your recorded presentation will be recorded via Zoom and you will then upload the MP4 presentation to AAST (link to be sent soon). If you do not have a Zoom account or access to one, please contact rsass@aast.org
        • When you record your presentation, please ensure you are dressed in business attire and ensure that your picture is on the upper right-hand corner of the Zoom screen (tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmMSXOQVQs4)
