    CME Information for the 76th Annual Meeting of AAST

     

    An email with a link to the CME will be distributed at the end of each day of the conference. You can claim CME for the activities you participated in that day. At then end of the conference, you will need to complete the evaluation and submit the online for to complete the process for claiming credits. Your certificate will be available after you complete and submit the online form.

     

    Due to new requirements from our CME provider you must claim all self-assessment credit within 10 calendar days after the conclusion of the activity. As of 11:59pm on September 26, 2017 you will be locked out of all self-assessment tests.

     

    You must claim all of your CME credits within 30 days of the close of the meeting. This page will no longer be available as of 11:59pm on October 16, 2017.

     

    PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW

    Instructions on how to claim CME and Self-Assessment (**the first three steps can be completed each day): 

     

    Step 1 - Claim CME Session Credits:

    • Claim your CME by manually selecting the number of credit hours in the drop down menus listed to the right of the session names for each individual session you attended.
    • Click “Next” at the bottom of the page.

    Step 2 - Claim Trauma and Pediatric Credits

    • Claim your Trauma and Pediatric Credits by manually selecting the number of credit hours in the drop down menus listed to the right of the session names for each individual session you attended.
    • Click “Next” at the bottom of the page.

    Step 3 - Claim Self-Assessment Hours: 

    • Claim your Self Assessment CME by selecting the option next to the courses you attended.  If you do not need to claim self-assessment CME, simply select the "Claim CME Credits Only" option
    • When you select the "Claim CME and Self Assessment Credits" button, a blue button will appear directing you to the exam for the course.  Click on the blue button to begin the exam.
    • The Exam will open in a new window. You must pass the post-test with a 75% or higher to claim self-assessment CME credit. If you do not pass the test on the first attempt you can retake it by clicking on the "reset my score" button on the top right hand portion of the browser.
    • Once you have passed the exam, click on the white "Claim CME" button in the upper left corner. You will be directed to the course evaluation.  After you submit the course evaluation, close the window.
    • You’ll notice a checkmark indicating you have successfully claimed self-assessment CME for that course.
    • Click “Next” at the bottom of the page.  

    *Available on Saturday, September 16th Step 4 - Attendee Evaluation:

    • Complete the Attendee Evaluation.
    • Click “Next” at the bottom of the page.

    Step 5 - General Evaluation: 

    • Complete the General Evaluation.
    • Click “Next” at the bottom of the page.

    Step 6 - Review and Submit:

    • Review the summary page for the correct number of CME credits, trauma credits, pediatric credits and Self Assessment credits claimed.
    • If you need to make a correction, please use the navigation buttons on the left side or the “previous” button. *Please note: do not use the back button on your browser.
    • If everything is correct, click “Finish” to complete the process.

    Accreditation Statement 

    This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma.  The American College of Surgeons is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

    AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

    The American College of Surgeons designates this live activity for a maximum of 31.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.*  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

    Of the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ listed above, a maximum of 17.00 credits meet the requirements for Self-Assessment.*

    Of the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ listed above, a maximum of 4.50 credits may qualify as Pediatric Trauma.** 

    Of the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ listed above, a maximum of 2.00 credits may qualify as Surgical Critical Care.** 

    Of the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ listed above, a maximum of 14.75 credits may qualify as Trauma.**

    *In order to receive self-assessment credit, you must take and pass the self-assessment test within ten (10) calendar days after the conclusion of the activity.
