Welcome to AAST CME/e-Learning
AAST has been producing high quality educational programs for over 50 years, and now, some of the most relevant and exclusive content is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please take a few moments to scroll through this website and learn more about this flexible and convenient new way to receive CME that is specifically targeted to help fulfill the new American Board of Surgery Self Assessment requirements.
CME: AAST is now providing a variety of online option for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM with a self-assessment component as required for the fulfillment of Part 2 of the American Board of Surgery Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program to Physicians. Nurses and Non-Physicians can now also claim Continuing Education credits by completing online courses. For all American College of Surgeon members, course CME credit will be reported to the ACS monthly and will then appear in your individual My CME Portal for reporting purposes. In addition at the completion of each course you will receive a PDF certificate for your files.
Please Note: Many institutions have blocked pop-ups from opening and therefore are not able to see the certificate from a work computer. If you have problems with the certificate please try to login from a personal computer and see if you are able to claim the credit.
CONTENT: The online courses consist of Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery articles, Archived AAST Grand Round’s, previous Annual Meeting Master Surgeon Lectures and topic specific presentations. All courses are currently one hour and worth 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Each course is assigned a suggested level and topic category to help you determine which course best fits your needs. New courses are being added monthly so please check back often.
COST: All online courses are offered free of charge to all AAST members. Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery subscribers will have access to all JOT courses complimentary but a fee will apply when accessing all other course types. A nominal fee will apply for all nonmembers. Once you have paid for or completed a course, you can revisit the content as many times and as often as you like.
SEARCH: Below please find the list of all available courses and many different ways to search for content. You can filter by any of the below areas or all of them together to narrow down the courses you are interested in. For example if you are looking for the January 2016 Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery CME article, you can check the box next to “JOT Article”, enter a date range, then click filter. The list of courses will then be narrowed down to include only Journal Articles posted between the date range selected.
QUESTIONS: Should you have questions or need any assistance completing a course or receiving your CME, please contact AAST Executive Director Sharon Gautschy at firstname.lastname@example.org or 312.202.5252.
