    Before the Meeting:

    • The Emergency Surgery Course will be held Monday, September 8th and Tuesday, September 9th - additional registration required 
    • The 3rd Annual AAST Fallen Surgeons Military Educational Symposium will be held Tuesday, September 9th - additional registration required 
    • Four (4) Pre-sessions will be held in the afternoon on Tuesday, September 9th - additional registration required 

    Meeting Highlights (Wednesday): 

    • The Welcome session will begin at 8:00 AM EST on Wednesday, September 10th 
    • Dr. Ronald Stewart's Presidential Address: "Harmoniously Spanning the Divide: What the World Could Needs to Learn from Trauma System Development" will begin at 11:50 AM EST
    • Seven (7) lunch sessions will begin at 12:50 PM - additional registration required 
    • The Welcome Reception will begin at 5:30 PM EST

    Meeting Highlights (Thursday): 

    • At 9:50 AM EST, Panel I, "Looking to the Future: Developing a National Trauma & Emergency Preparedness System (NTEPS)"
    • Scholarship Presentations will begin at 10:50 AM EST
    • The 50th Annual Fitts Orator Lecture, "Forged in the Crucible of Life and Death: Built Upon Legacy and Bound by Mission," presented by Brian Eastridge, MD will begin at 11:15 AM EST
    • The poster session will begin at 12:30 PM EST
    • AAST-sponsored Grab n' Go Lunch with Exhibitors - available for all attendees
    • New this year: "Evolution of Trauma Resuscitation Over the Last Decade" will take place at 1:45 PM EST
    • Also new, Nothing to Fear, Surgical Critical Care EPAs are Here will begin at 2:45 PM EST
    • Three (3) add-on sessions will begin at 3:00 PM EST - additional registration required 

    Meeting Highlights (Friday): 

    • Expert Surgeon Lecture, "Colon Injury: Tracking the Advances in Surgical Management," by Timothy Fabian, MD will begin at 10:50 AM EST
    • Panel II will begin at 11:20 AM EST
    • Six (6) lunch sessions will begin at 12:30 PM EST - additional registration required
    • The AAST Business Meeting will begin at 5:30 PM EST (AAST Members Only)
    • The Reception will begin at 7:00 PM EST, followed by the Auction and Banquet from 7:30 PM-11:00 PM EST

    Additional Info:

    • There will be 60 oral presentations throughout the meeting
    • 26 quickshot presentations will take place on Saturday, September 13th, beginning at 8:00 AM EST
    • Poster headsets will be used again this year 
    • Various industry events will happen throughout the meeting - check the schedule for up-to-date information

    • CME information will be sent to the email you used to register for the conference
    • AAST's virtual platform will contain On-Demand viewing of various meeting sessions - sessions will be available 72 hours after the live session date (example: the Welcome Sessions on Wednesday will be available for viewing by Saturday). No sessions will be live-streamed
