| Description: |
The University of Arizona Medical Center is seeking TWO Critical Care Fellows for the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship for the 2014-2015 academic year. The University of Arizona Medical Center is the only American College of Surgeons-verified Level I Trauma Center in Southern Arizona. More than 5,000 trauma evaluations are conducted in our Trauma Center each year. Our Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Emergency Surgery also staffs all inpatient and outpatient emergency general surgery consults and annually performs 2,000 general surgery operations. This provides for a robust operative experience. There is also an option to complete a second year of an AAST- approved acute care surgery fellowship. Our fellowship is overseen by ten full-time trauma/critical care surgeons. The curriculum includes six months in the surgical-trauma ICU, one month each in the pediatric, medical and cardiothoracic ICUs, two months of elective rotations and one month of research, with many opportunities to participate in both clinical and basic science projects.
