    Description: Surgical Critical Care/ACS Year One: Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. There are rotations in Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, HPB/transplant, Interventional Radiology and Cardiovascular. This includes experience in complex abdominal wall reconstruction, EMS/prehospital trauma systems, and research months. If needed or requested, additional vascular and thoracic experience is also available. Year Two: Traditional Critical Care. Within these 12 months, a fellow typically spends 4 to 6 months in the Shock-Trauma ICU and 1 month each in the Burn ICU, MICU, Advanced Airway with Anesthesia, Advanced Trauma/Critical Care Ultrasound and Mentored-Research months. Elective rotations include: additional Burn ICU, Pre-hospital/Trauma Systems, PICU, Transplant/Surgical ICU, and CVICU or CCU. Fellows will become proficient in IVC filters, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, transesophageal echocardiography for resuscitation, and other ICU procedures.
